Ticketing & Pricing 

How much does Kynren – An Epic Tale of England cost? 

Tickets start at £30 for adults and £20 for children, with four different seating categories. Click here for more information on seating and pricing. 

Do you offer carer tickets? 

Yes, a free Essential Companion ticket is available for those who are eligible. Find out more here

What should I do if I lose my tickets? 

You can download new tickets by logging onto your account here https://www.11arches.com/account or alternatively If you have lost your tickets, please contact our customer support team as soon as possible for assistance. They will help reissue your tickets or provide alternative solutions. Click here to contact us. On the day of the event, visit the Box Office with proof of purchase, and our team will assist in reissuing your tickets. 

Getting Here 

Is there parking available? 

Yes, ample parking is available with shuttle bus service to and from the car parks.  There is a fee for car parking and you must pre-book a space to ensure availability and a hassle-free experience.  Learn more about parking here.

Do you offer a shuttle bus service? 

Yes, we provide a convenient shuttle bus service to and from Green and Yellow Car Parks – the transfer is included as part of your car parking ticket. We also offer a ride only shuttle bus service from Bishop Auckland Market Place which must be booked separately. Please check the shuttle bus schedule and pricing on our website. Where can taxis drop off and pick up? 

Due to our traffic management and security systems, taxis are unable to drop off visitors directly onto the Kynren site. We recommend using Bishop Auckland Market Place as your drop off/pick up point and either walking to the Kynren site (10 minutes), or using our pre-booked Ride Only Shuttle Bus Service (£3.00 per person for a return journey). Book a Shuttle Bus here.

What time should I arrive? 

We recommend arriving at least 1 hour 30 mins before the show begins to allow time for parking, security checks, and exploring the Viking Village and other attractions. Click here for more details.

What is Kynren?

How long does Kynren last?

Kynren – An Epic Tale of England is a 90-minute outdoor theatre spectacular that starts at sunset and ends in starlight. The show is fast-paced and immersive, with no interval. Learn more about the show here.

Where is the best place to sit? 

All seats in our 8,000-seater Tribune offer unrestricted views of the panoramic stage. It’s all about finding the best seat for you! Learn about our seating categories here.

Can I take photos and videos during the show?

For the enjoyment of all guests and to preserve the immersive nature of the performance, photography and videography are not permitted during the show. However, you are welcome to take photos in the Viking Village and designated areas before and after the performance.

What time does the Viking Village open and close? 

The Viking Village opens 2 hours before the performance and closes 30 minutes before the show starts, giving you plenty of time to explore before the main performance begins. We recommend arriving early to fully enjoy the immersive experience. Learn more about the Viking Village here

Weather 

What happens if it rains?

Kynren performances proceed in all weather. We recommend dressing appropriately, as even warm days can turn cool after sunset. Bringing a waterproof jacket or poncho is advised. If you don’t have one, ponchos and blankets are available for purchase on-site. 

What should I wear to Kynren?

As Kynren is an outdoor event, we recommend dressing for the weather. Layered clothing is ideal to adapt to changing temperatures, and comfortable footwear is advised for walking to and from the venue.

Accessibility

Is Kynren access-friendly?

Yes, Kynren offers a wide range of facilities to ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors. Find out more here.

How far is it from the entrance to the Tribune. 

There is a 450 metre walk from entrance to the Tribune.  All guests do need to make this journey – there are no vehicle transfers to seating area.

Are assistance dogs allowed?

Yes, only assistance dogs are permitted at Kynren. Assistance dogs MUST be pre-booked – please contact us in advance at 01388 436 030 if you plan to bring an assistance dog. 

Food & Facilities 

Can I bring a picnic? 

No – Outside food and drinks are not allowed within the venue. However, a range of food and drink options are available on-site here.

Are there water refill stations? 

Yes, water refill stations are available on-site. We encourage visitors to bring reusable water bottles to help reduce waste and stay hydrated throughout their visit.  Empty drink containers are allowed, but aluminium bottles or flasks are prohibited.

Is Kynren a cashless site? 

Yes, Kynren is a cashless site. All payments for food, drinks, and merchandise must be made using a debit or credit card or via contactless payment methods. Please ensure you bring a suitable payment method with you 

Can I bring my own food for medical or baby needs? 

Yes, guests are allowed to bring baby food or food required for medical reasons. Please notify our team in advance or speak to security upon arrival to make arrangements. 

What happens if I have dietary needs?

We do cater for vegan / vegetarian / dairy free and gluten-free diets.  Allergy information is available upon request. Please review the menus or contact us if you have any specific requirements.

Security

Can I bring large bags or luggage? 

To ensure a smooth entry process, we are unable to permit large bags or luggage. Small bags and essentials are allowed, but all items will be subject to security checks.  Click here for more details on restricted items.   

What items are restricted?

Health & Safety 

Are there first aid facilities on-site? 

Yes, first aid facilities are available on-site, and our trained staff are ready to assist with any medical needs during your visit. 

What should I do in case of an emergency? 

In the unlikely event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of our staff and security team. They are trained to ensure everyone’s safety. 

After the Show 

How long does it take to leave the show? 

Exiting the venue is managed efficiently by our experienced team, ensuring that cars and pedestrians leave safely and quickly. While the exact time may vary depending on attendance and your parking location, most guests are on their way within 30–45 minutes after the show ends. Our staff are on hand to guide cars and assist pedestrians to ensure a smooth departure. 

Can I purchase souvenirs? 

Yes, our Georgian shop offers a variety of Kynren-themed merchandise, which you can purchase before or after the show. Remember, we are a cashless site, so bring a debit or credit card for purchases.
